about sprout
Hi and welcome to Sprout Counseling! My name is Taylor Jones and my theoretical framework is multifaceted. I work with clients ages 2-18 and have over 6 years of experience in the mental health field. I have seen clients with a variety of life challenges and lagging skills, but believe that with the proper help, they can get their needs met to “sprout” and grow. My services include diagnosis, individual and family therapy, case management, consultation, and skill-building.
Since a young age, I have been diagnosed and treated for Attention/Deficit- Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This experience, combined with years or work in a day treatment center and past and current work in an outpatient setting, allow me to offer a plethora of real-life skills to help clients combat their negative symptoms. My professional experiences allow me expertise in working with significant behavioral and emotional issues, ADHD and learning disabilities, Asperger’s, social issues, depression, anxiety, family dynamics, and trauma. I am trained in Collaborative Problem Solving and believe that no child or teen is simply “bad,” and they would do well if they could. Sometimes barriers and lagging skills get in the way, and I help clients overcome hurdles to improve functioning and successes in all areas. Not just one approach should be utilized for all symptoms and I am also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and have a great deal of experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and family-based approaches in my practice.
